Mission
Our mission is to help everyone get outdoors and experience the benefits of learning, playing, and growing in nature.
Vision
Our vision is to provide a wide variety of nature based therapy experiences for children, families, and individuals. We want to increase the accessibility of nature based therapy for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. We will increase diversity in the outdoor spaces we inhabit, and create welcoming environments for all people, including those of different ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, ethnic backgrounds, physical abilities, and socio-economic status.
Values
We believe that access to outdoor spaces is a universal right, and aim to remove barriers that prevent any person from having a safe and fun outdoor experience. We value the therapeutic power of experiences in the natural world, and aim to facilitate these experiences for children, families, and anyone wishing to learn and grow in the outdoors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you provide services?
We provide services all around the Louisville, KY area. Our programs are held outdoors but are always located in accessible areas, so everyone can come. If you have questions or concerns regarding how a child with a mobility challenge will be able to participate, please contact us! You can find more details on location information on an individual program’s page.
My child needs extra support with following directions or behavior. Can they still participate?
We strive to be inclusive for everyone, while still maintaining safety as our top priority. We have volunteers and staff to help keep adult:child ratios small, however we are not always able to provide 1:1 supervision. If your child will require more support or supervision in order to safely participate, please contact us before registering for a program.
Do you still run programs in bad weather?
We host programs rain or shine! Experiencing different kinds of weather is one of the joys of being outside. However, we will cancel or reschedule for extreme weather events such as lightning/thunderstorms, extreme cold, etc.
Do you provide individual therapy services?
We do not provide individual therapy services at this time. All of our programs are group based to facilitate social skill building.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance. We accept payment via cash, check, or credit card. All of our programs and services are run on a sliding scale fee system, and we will never turn away a child or family due to an inability to pay. Fees vary depending on the type of service or program, but if you have any concerns about the cost please contact us.
Do you accept donations?
Yes! Because we provide services on a sliding scale model, and often at no charge, we rely on donations to cover program costs. Please visit our donate page to find out more!
